The University Swimming Pool will reopen on 17 May 2021 (Monday). The opening hours will be as follows:

17 May 2021 (Monday): 3:00 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.


Weekly opening hours:

Every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday

1st Session:     10:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.

2nd Session:    3:00 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.


Every Friday:

1st Session:     CLOSED for weekly cleaning           

2nd Session:    3:00 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.


Every Saturday:

1st Session:     CLOSED for the University water polo team practice          

2nd Session:    3:00 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.


Every Sunday: CLOSED

*The Pool is closed and will reopen in April/May 2022


According to the latest regulations of HKSAR Government, the capacity of the University Swimming Pool is now lowered to 30% of its maximum capacity. For safety sake, all swimmers are required to do registration before entering the pool:   



Preventive measures:

1. Persons entering the pool are required to have temperature checked. Persons with temperature higher than 37.5˚c, or with respiratory disease symptoms, will be forbidden to enter the pool.

2. Persons must wear a mask at all times within the swimming pool except when the person is swimming, having a shower, walking from a changing room to a pool or vice versa, keeping 1.5 metres with others while doing warm-up.

3. Relevant notices about COVID-19 preventive measures will be posted at prominent places. All swimmers must observe the requirements of the prevention and control of disease (prohibition on Group gathering) regulation (Cap. 599G) that each group/class must consist of no more than 4 persons.

4. Swimmers using benches are required to keep a distance of 1.5 metres.

5. Hand sanitizers will be provided at the pool. Coarse mat sprayed with bleach solution and foot-pedal type lidded litter container are in place.

6. Drinking fountain is temporarily suspended.

7. Only alternate column of storage cabinets and shower cubicles will be open for use.


Issuance and renewal of swimming cards will commence from 17 May 2021 (Monday) at the Counter, Student Development and Resources Section, Office of Student Affairs (1/F, Benjamin Franklin Centre). Swimming pool will fully implement admission by Octopus ONLY. As the swimming pool ticketing office does not provide add value service, please make sure there is sufficient balance in your Octopus card. The price schedule of the University Swimming Pool will be adjusted starting from 1 July 2021 (Thursday), details are as follows:

Penalty for Loss of Swimming Card or Locker Key $17.50


Apart from the changes in the admission fee, following arrangements will also become effective on 1 July 2021:

1. Concessionary rate for morning session of Monday to Friday (except Public Holidays) will be cancelled; and

2. No coupons will be offered for sale.


Coupons purchased before 1 July is valid until the end of this swimming season. Refund of coupon is not applicable. Please contact the swimming pool ticketing office at 3943 6764 for enquiry.
